Aunt Joni, Olive and I had a very productive and fun day last Wednesday! We first had a yummy lunch on Grand Ave. Then we dropped off my spinning wheel from Grandma Hermann to a guy who's going to get it in working condition for me! Then we had a blast at Como Zoo! It was warm, but we had a great time. I can't wait for our next adventure! Thanks Again, Joni! This was the first monkey we saw... he reminds us of Danny :)
Pretty
It was a very warm day... all of the animals were pretty lethargic!

Big brown bear swimming by Olive! Don't worry, we were completely safe indoors! :)

Kisses for the turtle!
It was EXTREMELY hot and humid in the conservatory! But so beautiful!

This little zoo keeper was deciding which food goes to what animal. FYI this is a plastic steak!

Thank you Aunt Joni and Uncle Den for letting me take a bath before my ride home to La Crosse! I LOVED your slippery bathtub!!

Miss Olive's 1 year Stats

Our Olive had her 1 year appointment last week. She did well. She was full of smiles and cooperation. Talking, talking, talking... and then when the Doctor wanted to listen to her heart and lungs, she was completely silent! Too cute!

Olive is now 23 lbs 7 oz, and 28.6 inches tall.

Couple more

Happy Birthday Miss Olive!

Olive had a wonderful first birthday! She even decided to take some solo steps on her big day... and she's been practicing hard ever since! She's almost there! We took a picture by her tree, and I'll post one from last year too. Olive loved opening up gifts. Pat and Vance- she took FOREVER opening up yours because she LOVED the tissue paper! She would rip little bits and look each piece over carefully... it was killing me! (I'm not patient when it comes to gift unwrapping. But it was her day, and I kept it under control) The big party was on the 18th and we had lots of family in town. It was so fun! The weather held out, and she had a great time with all of her friends and family. The only time she got a little overwhelmed was when she was opening gifts and she had LOTS of little helpers!

My favorite part was when we all sang "happy birthday" to her. She was very quiet and looked in awe at everyone singing to her! So sweet! Thanks everyone for a great party!

Lucy and Olive got to take the Burley trailer out for a spin after the party. They loved it! After supper, Sarah and I thought it would be an awesome idea for the girls to finger paint!! Hopefully we have more pictures to capture that moment... I'm still trying to get that yellow paint off of Olive's toe, and out of my clothes! It was a mess, but a blast!!

Olive had such a great time hanging out with Grandma, Grandpa and Great Grandmother! And of course, Lucy and Auntie Sarah and Uncle Luke! It was such a fun weekend... THANK YOU ALL! We feel so blessed to have such a wonderful group of family and friends.

Memorial Day

We had a great Memorial Day! It was a hot day, but we spent a lot of it near the river at Goose Island park! Olive even had her first kiss with a little boy. He is 18 months old and his name is Liam. A picture of that to come soon! :)

I think summer is finally here! Enjoy!

Aunt Joni: Look how well my little Japanese Maple is doing in the background! And directly behind Olive's flag is my neighbor's huge, beautiful Japanese Maple! It must be a good spot for them!

Krista's Baby Shower & More!!

We had such a great weekend! We went to Krista's baby shower, went to Grandma and Grandpa's house in New Ulm (and had so much fun playing with Noelle!), and also got Olive's 1 year pictures taken by Marsha Jones! We were busy, but it was fun!!

Krista had a lovely shower, and it was great to spend time with family and friends. Olive loved helping Krista unwrap her gifts! She also loved playing peek a boo with GG (Great Grandma Hermann).

Olive LOVES all the toys that Grandma and Grandpa have, especially the drum! Her and Noelle had a great time together. And of course Olive had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa Hermann!

Grandma and Grandpa gave Olive her birthday present early so that Chris could get it set up right away. (Some assembly required :) ) Olive loves her new cart to push around... she cruises pretty fast with that thing! She loves to put toys in and out of the cart. Yes, we had permission to give the gift to her early! It wasn't my decision, Grandpa said she was ready for this toy! ;)

Lastly, We love you Berk!

Spring!

Here are a couple (very late, sorry) Easter pictures! As well as enjoying the swings at the park, which we try to do every day it's nice out. The last picture was from last weekend, my Aunt Joni and I (and Olive) ventured to Lake Elmo for Shepherd's Harvest Sheep and Wool Festival. We had a great time, saw so many wonderful artists and their beautiful crafts. There were even sheep and Alpaca there. My favorite yarn store, Ewetopia even had a booth there! Bought some beautiful wool that I will one day spin. Even got a couple wool dryer balls! Also found a guy that is going to fix up my 1800's spinning wheel that Grandma Hermann gave me. Sweet!! Anyway, it was a great day, and we had so much fun getting ideas for future projects! Oh yeah, and we passed on the lamb chop and/or lamb brat for lunch... didn't seem right! Hope to go next year too! The last picture is for Olive, she loves the book "Is your Mama a Llama?"... too bad she was sleeping!
